The questions you ask us

When does the Rassegna take place?

Edition 63 of the Rassegna Gastronomica runs from 1 October to 1 November 2026. The times and the closing day are each place’s own and are on its page.

How do you book a table?

You book with the place, not with the Committee: every page gives the telephone number and the address. In 26 places booking is welcome, in 2 it is essential.

Where are the places and how do you get there?

There are 29 places, in 16 towns and villages of the Mendrisiotto and the Basso Ceresio, plus the traditional “guest” in Morcote, the only one outside the region. Every page gives the full address and a link to directions.

How does the gift work?

Every Rassegna dish or menu entitles you to a gift, which the place hands you. The children’s dish does not entitle you to the gift.

How does the loyalty passport work?

Every dish or menu earns you a stamp on the passport. With the stamps of 8 different places the passport is complete and entitles you to the loyalty prize, which comes on top of the gift received at each visit. The children’s dish does not earn the stamp.

Is there anything for children?

Some places offer the children’s dish, with a small gift, and whoever orders it can take part in the drawing competition: three age categories, three winners per category and the prize-giving in December in Mendrisio.

Can you come as a group?

Yes, if you let the place know: only they know how many they can seat. Grotto La Balduana, for instance, seats 40 inside and 80 outside, with two long tables for 18 people; Grotto Linet has a small room with a fireplace for banquets; Caffè Sociale has 120 seats inside and 120 on the terrace.

Where can the booklet be found?

In every participating place from 1 October, free of charge, and in any case the first place where you eat a Rassegna dish hands you a copy. The booklet of edition 62 is also in PDF, in Italian, on the participants page.
